What is it?

It is a state-managed fauna reserve in the highlands of Ecuador, at the base of the Chimborazo Volceno, the highest from Ecuador. The Carell Refuge is the highest point in Ecuador where you can drive up to, at 4.800 meters. And on an "easy" high altitude hike, you can reach the Whymper Refuge at 5.000 meters of altitude above sea level.
