Pichincha Volcano and Summits

What is it?

The Pichincha Massive has three main summits: Ruco, Guagua (the active caldera), and Padre Encantado. You can hike up this summits, and on a clear day even see the active caldera and crater from Guagua. To hike up Ruco or the "old Pichincha", you can take the cable car up to near 4.000 meters of altitude, and from there do the hike, or just enjoy the views over Quito and the ecuadorian Andes.

Hiking, mountain biking, sightseeing.
