General itinerary for the day

On this arrival day you depart Isabela early in the morning, and arrive in Puerto Ayora at arround 09h00. After leaving your lugagge in the hotel, we visit the Charles Darwin Station in the mornig, joined by our local guida, to see what this organization has done, and is doing in the Park since more than 50 years ago. After lunch we depart by foot from the hotel towards Tortuga Bay, a great sandy beach towards open ocean, and a hidden tranquile bay, great to swimm with less risk. The stone cobbled path is interesting, because you get to see the lowland vegetation and animals close by. At the end of the stone path you reach the main beach, and it is not permitted to swimm there due to strong currents, but many people take high risks by not paying attention to this warning. You can swimm properly in the tranquile bay, and also have a nice hike in the area. The total hiking time to the tranquile bay (end point of the hike), is aprox. 1.25 hours.

What can you do today?

Sightseeing, hiking, bird watching, snorkeling, animal observation.

Possible / Suggested Overnight Town:
