About it

Swiss run jungle lodge located in a 1000 hectares protected forest called “Selva Viva” on the shores of the Arajuno River in the Napo province 45 kilometers from Tena. The lodge offers accommodation in rustic but comfortable huts and several excursions and activities. The profit from the lodge benefits “Selva Viva”. The owners also run an animal rescue center “AmaZOOnico” which can be visited very close to the lodge.

What can you do there?

  • Hikes through the jungle accompanied by a native Quechua guide. 
  • We will see the biodiversity of flora and fauna, learn about the use of medicinal plants and enjoy splendid views of the jungle 
  • Visit of the Animal Rescue Center AmaZOOnico

  • Visit to a Quechua family to learn about their customs 
  • Night visit to a Shaman who will introduce us to the spirit world of the Quechuas and perform a cleaning ceremony 
  • Visit of the local museum where we learn about the hunting techniques 
  • Ride down the Arajuno river on board of a traditional Quechua balsa raft 
  • Fishing with different techniques 
  • Day and night trips in a dug-out canoe – and incredible experience in the moonlight.

Accommodation

The lodge offers comfortable accommodation. The maximum capacity is 35 passengers. They can be accommodated in 12 double rooms, one Triple room, one room for 4 persons and one family room for 5 persons. Each hut has private bathroom with hot water showers.

The windows are equipped with fly-screens to protect you against the mosquitoes and you can enjoy the surrounding on your terrace. In case the Lodge is booked out, Liana Lodge can accommodate you in the neighboring community with a total capacity of 17 persons. This lodge provides shared cabins, hot water and fly-screens in the windows.
